Dental Check-Ups at SMH Dental Care
Keeping your smile healthy—now and in the future
Even if your teeth feel fine, regular dental check-ups play a vital role in maintaining a healthy mouth. They help us spot any early signs of trouble before they become more serious—saving you time, stress and discomfort down the line. After all, prevention is always better than cure.
What happens at your dental check-up?
During your visit, your dentist will:
- Take a close look at your teeth, gums, cheeks and tongue
- Ask about any recent changes, discomfort or concerns
- Offer advice tailored to you—from brushing techniques to healthy food choices
- Occasionally take X-rays to check for anything hidden beneath the surface
- Recommend seeing our hygienist if a scale and polish is needed
- Check for signs of mouth cancer and other general oral health issues
All of this is done gently, thoroughly, and with your comfort in mind.
How often should I come in?
Everyone’s needs are different. At the end of your appointment, we’ll let you know when to return based on your oral health, lifestyle and dental history. Many patients benefit from visits every 6 to 12 months—but we’ll guide you on what’s best for you.
